Install Annotated in Chrome

We're distributing the extension directly while the Web Store review is pending. Download the zip, then load it as an unpacked extension. Takes about 30 seconds.

    Download and unzip

    Click the button above to grab annotated-extension.zip. Unzip it somewhere you won't accidentally delete — Chrome reads the unpacked folder live, so moving or deleting it breaks the extension.

    Open Chrome's extensions page

    Paste chrome://extensions into the address bar and hit enter.

    Turn on Developer mode

    Flip the Developer mode toggle in the top-right corner of the extensions page.

    Load unpacked

    Click Load unpacked and select the folder you unzipped in step 1. Annotated should appear in your extensions list with the orange highlighter icon.

    Pin it and sign in

    Click the puzzle-piece icon in the Chrome toolbar, find Annotated, and pin it. Open the side panel from the toolbar, then sign in on the website with X or Google. The extension shares the site's session.

Updating

When a new version ships, re-download the zip, replace the unpacked folder, and click the refresh icon next to Annotated on chrome://extensions.
